You’re making me blush! As a thanks, what about some Castle
scoop about the show’s other big couple: Ryan and Esposito! As you’ll
recall, the season-ender found the twosome on the outs after Esposito
backed Beckett over his partner, leading to his suspension. So how long
before our favorite bromance is back on good terms? Jon Huertas thinks
it shouldn’t take too long. “If I know [executive producer] Andrew
Marlowe, I think he will probably have us [friends again] by the end of
the first episode, scene 5,” he said. But it won’t be easy. “He will
probably have that seed of distrust planted. I probably won’t trust Ryan
as I much did before,” Huertas adds.

I've always loved Ryan. And "Always" just made me love him even more. :) Him and Espo will be on good terms again soon. This show just wouldn't be the same without our favorite bromance! :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! I think that the events of the first episode of the new season will probably cause a reconciliation between Ryan and Esposito. If it hadn't been for Ryan telling Captain Gates about the secret that the "family" had been hiding Kate would be dead right now. I'm sure in time Esposito will understand this. They never actually explicitly stated how much information Ryan gave up to Captain Gates but it was implied that she knows enough about it now. They crafted that finale magnificently well. They gave us what we've all been waiting four years for but also left some dark clouds hanging above them and so many questions unanswered. Going to be a long wait until September!
DeleteI love speculating about how much Ryan shared. My guess is he didn't tell about the Montgomery secret. If he did, wouldn't he also be suspended? This is why I don't think he told everything.
ReplyDeleteI am guessing he only told Gates about Beckett investigating her own sniper's involvement in the case of the victim who broke into Montgomery's, but not that Montgomery was a corrupt cop in the past.
I love the tension in our bromance. It's good drama to shake things up occasionally. I can't wait to see what happens with Ryan & Espo, as well as Ryan & Beckett. How will our team get back together with Castle there to shadow them???!

I completely agree with you and I think that Kate is going to be less angry than Espo because she has Castle now.
DeleteLet's not forget about Maddox is on the warpath. Castle will get major league protective, especially if Alexis or Martha is also threatened.

Yes true Anon 11.46 AM, there's still Cole Maddox out there intent on killing Kate once and for all. When his character was first announced they said he was going to be a part of a two-part arc. Dick Coonan was in one episode (Sucker Punch) and Hal Lockwood two (Knockdown and Knockout). Despite the fact that Kate has quit the force for Rick, it is inevitable that she's going to be forced to deal with this case that had been defining her life for the last 13 years (which she gave up because she realized that Rick was more important to her than her mother's murder) one more time at least. The Johanna Beckett murder case has been at the very core of this show but at some point it has to come to an end. If they do end it during the start of Season 5 then maybe they'll pick up the mystery of who Rick's father really is to take the place of the Johanna Beckett murder. While the fun hadn't truly gone from Season 4 they definitely pulled it back while they dealt with the secrets. They've promised us a return to fun in Season 5 and I think there will be plenty of that as Rick and Kate are adjusting to the fact that they are now an official couple, as well as their close friends and families adjusting to their new status. Going to be so much fun to see where they go from here. I hope this show teaches others that are similar a lesson in time, that you don't have to drag out the will they, won't they part of the show and can make it get even better when the two leads are together.

I like that prediction Anon 12.35 PM. What would make it even funnier is if they did something similar to Heartbreak Hotel, the scene where Alexis is charging around trying to clean the place up only for Rick to come in hungover, except this time it's Rick and Kate in a panic and Alexis is the one to come home with a hangover!
DeletePLUS! Kevin saved her. Without him getting some help, CSU would still be in that alley way scraping Beckett off the ground with spatulas. If Kevin didn't save her, she wouldn't be able to be with Castle, and make each other happy. I think that in the first episode of season 5, Beckett will call up Ryan and apologize for everything; making him choose that decision (that he shouldn't have had to make), not thanking him sooner for saving her life, etc. etc. And hopefully, by the end of the episode, Esposito will come to his senses and forgive Ryan/ask Ryan for forgiveness.
DeleteI think that Ryan told Gates everything because we would have had to tell her the whole story for Gates to understand how the investigation ties in with Beckett's shooting. Maybe he wasn't suspended because he came clean. Beckett and Esposito took it a step farther than Ryan when they went off to catch Maddox on their own without backup, and Gates probably took that into consideration when she suspended them.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Ryan told everything to Gates . He is defenitely not a treator , he would never betray the team . He was just trying to protect Beckett. I'm pretty sure he just told the minimum to Gates .
DeleteWell, he could have just said that Cole Maddox (the suspect)was Beckett's shooter. I don't think that there was a need to mention Roy's connection to Beckett's case.
DeleteHmmm, I'm on te fence about whether her told Gates everything, because if he didn't, it seems like Gate would make some kind of connection between Beckett's shooter and the fact that he robbed Montgomery's house. I think she would be suspicious that there's more to the story, so Ryan might have told her everything.

I mean, they are best friends, and Ryan did it because he was worried, and he turned out right, AND SAVED KATE?!
And Esposito just walks away angry at him with Ryan saying: "Havier, I had to". (I cried so much at that part)
I just feel sorry for Ryan, poor guy.
Does anybody else agree that Ryan did the right and responsible thing?

ReplyDeleteI know that this has nothing to do with Ryan and Esposito, but I was rewatching season 4 and when I started watching "Cuffed" I noticed that Kate's eyes are opened and she is smiling. Is it just me seeing that because that is what I want to see? Or is it because it really did happen that way? I always thought that she was just smiling in her sleep, but the more I look at it, the more I think that she is awake and smiling at him.
DeleteYes! In "cuffed " Kate awake first by opening her eyes and smiling at Castle as she finds him next to her. It's like she does not realize the situation for a brief moment...just enjoying seeing him by her side .
DeleteI'm glad Ryan did what he did, because they were being stupid and Beckett would definitely have died otherwise (therefore no Caskett door-romps... o, the horror!)... but I so disagree with the prinicple behind it. He really did betray their trust. If he had a problem with lying to protect people, and with not going by the book, which would have been a fair enough attitude, he needed to voice that when they all decided to keep the initial secret after Montgomery died.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you're saying LOT about Ryan coming clean now when he was also partaking in keeping Montgomery's involvement in this whole saga a secret from Captain Gates way back in Rise. I think the key difference between Rise and Always is that in Rise they had no idea who Cole Maddox really was and they were not putting their lives at risk by trying to chase him down like they were in Always. In Always I think Ryan was genuinely concerned for their safety given the circumstances surrounding what had happened in the past with Dick Coonan and Hal Lockwood (knowing that they were going after another trained killer, who was also the man who shot Kate Beckett at Montgomery's funeral) and that's why he went to Captain Gates to get backup for Beckett and Esposito (which ultimately led to Beckett being rescued by Ryan). Both Beckett and Esposito have been prepared in the past to push the boundaries of legality (and sometimes overstep them) to get cases solved, but Ryan isn't like that. He had to make a tough choice that ended up with him saving Beckett's life while driving a wedge between him and Esposito, but it remains unclear as to exactly how much information he coughed up about Montgomery's secret. Captain Gates is quite a cranky person so maybe she only got angry about the fact that Beckett and Esposito had taken off after a trained killer without sufficient backup, but I think it's more likely that Captain Gates now knows their "family" secret about Montgomery's past. At the end of the day this secret they had been holding was always going to blow up in their faces. The events of the first episode of Season 5 are probably going to force all of them (including Rick and Captain Gates) to put their differences and bruised egos aside and work together to finally solve this case (that's what I'm picking anyway).

But I don't think they gonna solve Johanna Beckett' murder in the premiere.

ReplyDeleteI think Ryan did the right thing. If he didn't tell gates, their would be no caskett. So I say thank you honey milk. :) however I dont think he told gates everything, and I bet they will all reconcile cause of the sniper in the premiere. Cole Maddox is trying to hunt Kate down and even if they do kill mr. Smith, I have no doubt that Kate will end up killing Maddox by shooting him. I think this is how Rick will have to use those files If mr. Smiths killed. Ya I know he put them in the recycle bin, but as people have said that doesn't mean they are deleted. He can always just fish them out. And I would love to see gates come to Kate's apartment and ask her to come back. I would wanna see Kate apologize to both Ryan and espo. She put both of them in compromising positions in always. But I can't wait till season 5. I don't think the case will be solved in the premiere, and I can't wait for bantering caskett and the boys teasing them. Also I will be very irritated if they do the Alexis is against them dating storyline. We need to see Kate and alexis bond by whupping Rick in laser tag.

I think they should wake up like in cuffed,also I think that Alexis should notice some things out of place and calls her dad in a panic and hears his cell phone go off then just asume everything is ok gose up to her room she comes down to laser tag him and sees them kissing in the kitchen and says ewwww.
ReplyDeleteWhen u get sad that Castle isnt going to Comic Con, just think about Always sometimes it just hit me that they are togheter now like really no dream no fanfic they are TOGETHER TOGETHER!!! ahhh I cant wait for september(I kind of whant that my summer go faster which is crazy but then again I learned to love Mondays soo..)also which one do u think will wake up first???????????????? Im putting my money on Castle;)
