Hi Sandra. I hear that you were lucky enough to chat with the stunning Stana Katic. What did she have to say about the season finale? I know how much she was rooting for Castle/Beckett to finally get together. Any teases for what is to come in season 5 or what she hopes to come? — Cheryl
Since season 5 has yet to hit paper, no teases. But she certainly echoed executive producer Andrew Marlowe’s statements about the chemistry we will see between the two. “I don’t know what they’re going to do. I know that Andrew has always felt like the show has that kind of His Girl Friday feel,” she says. “And as in any relationship, there are all these charmingly complicated moments of adjustment and getting to know each other in a relationship that could be charming and compelling to watch.” Full chat goes up today. Promise.

Oh my God!!!!! I love you Stana as much as I love this show but there's something annoying...
ReplyDeleteFrom now until september, we just gonna have words and papers with subtext and everything that we don't like.
So!!.... Be patient and have a good summer everybody!!!
What the heck does His Girl Friday mean?
ReplyDeleteIt's a classic w/ Cary Grant & Rosalind Russell. Good one to watch if you're bored over the hiatus.
DeleteMaybe this?

I wonder if anyone has given any thought to the complaint that Castle had in Cuffed that Beckett always had to be first through a door? Given that it appeared at the end of Always that Beckett had him by the hand and was probably leading him toward and through the bedroom door, perhaps he is no longer as concerned about that, but Beckett is still doing it!
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it is Castle did everything he could do to show Kate how he felt about her. He said everything there was to say, and she still initially rejected him. The ball was in Kate's court, so she had to be the one to take the lead in that situation. I do think it was a nice little callback to the moment when he accuses her of always having to lead, though. :)
DeleteI like the part where she was charmingly charming.
ReplyDeleteAnd His Girl Friday, with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell, is an all-time great flick.
I would also recommend the Thin Man movies with William Powell and Myrna Loy if you're into witty, sexy banter mixed with mystery. This formula spawned a million spinoffs, from Steed and Peel in The Avengers to Hart to Hart, Remington Steele, Moonlighting, and yes, Castle. Summer fun viewing!
Re: "His Girl Friday" -- there's an episode in
ReplyDeleteS3 where Castle has it on his laptop -- he's watching the movie -- The director, Howard Hawks, was one of the most brilliant for frenetic, romantic comedies. See, e.g., "Bringing Up Baby" - also with Cary Grant.
Love this show for reviving the humor and sexual tension, but agree it had to come to fruition and "Always" was perfect.
I just searched and watched the movie yesterday. Such a challenge to watch rocket-speed dialogues like that in a foreign language. I loved it.
DeleteA curious mind.
wow...which episode? this show is so great..
DeleteWow, Anon 10:42. His Girl Friday is famous for its super fast and overlapping dialogue. It's actually impossible to catch everything they're all saying for a native English speaker; I'm impressed. Glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteAlso, it's funny to me that Stana referenced this movie now, as the premise has Cary Grant's character trying his best to suck Russell's into a conspiracy/cover-up story to lure her back to her job, which she is trying to quit...
Was it just me or was there not an explosion or fire scene?!
ReplyDeleteI have a sneaking suspicion that they've already filmed a few scenes from the season 5 premiere. Since there's no time jump, they'll want everyone to look the same... no weight loss, hair cuts, etc.
DeleteYes, just my thoughts. I guess they will start right where they left it. They have to explain what happens to Mr Smith (explosion?) and Beckett won't be out of the 12th for very long. Now they're after her.
DeleteAnon. from Spain.
Didn't you see there's an explosion when Espo&Ryan come in the apartment of the guy they guessed was the killer?
DeleteYes, but that was just a door. I guess we had imagined a bigger explosion from the BTS photos. ha ha.
DeleteI was a little confused about the way they entered that apartment by blowing up the door. Don't they usually knock first? Try to kick it in? Was there an explanation I missed? There was one guy sitting inside - not an army.
DeleteWell there was a bunch of fireworks about to expire and they had to use them before the end of the season. ha ha ha.
DeleteI think they just wanted a dramatic entry. It wasn't proper police procedure at all, it's just just pretty for the audience to look at. That said, I don't watch Castle for it's proper procedure (or lack thereof). I love it for the twisty murder cases, and of course, Caskett. ;)
DeleteI was wondering that too, some svenes from the promo picks were not in the episode, the explosion in the pics didnt match the one in always. Also i think there was a pic with everyone standig outside a car or beckett getting out of a car and running. The whole scene could have just been cut all together idk
ReplyDeleteSbaglierò, ma credo che alcune scene siano state tagliate di proposito per la quinta stagione.
ReplyDeleteSe guardate i Bts qualcosa non torna.
Yes, maybe those scenes will be shown right before episode 1 of season 5. you know (Previously ...).

Well I talk super fast and sometimes you can't understand me;) I can understand fast talkers too and i could totally understand His Girl Friday;).
ReplyDeleteIn season 5 I want Beckett to come in the kitchen with Castle and she is wearing is shirt only and he is only wearing boxers. They get all caught in a passionate kiss then in comes family members...haha
