It's been an incredibly long week waiting for the finale but now that it's here it's bittersweet; I can't wait to see what happens (good or bad) but than I realize that's all we get for the next four months. Perhaps we could lobby the execs at ABC for a 48 epidsode season? Yeah, that sounds about right.
If they did a musical, I'd stop watching. The musical episode killed my interest in Grey's Anatomy; it was so stupid and out of place that I couldn't take the show seriously anymore. If I want musicals, I'll watch Glee or Smash. Not every show has to jump the shark and make their characters belt out a bunch of songs.
Ummm, you do realize that it takes 8 days, working an average of 10 - 12 hours (sometimes longer) to make an episode and 48 episodes, at a minimum would take... :calculator clicking: 384 days to make that full "season", right?
Wonder if the BBC would loan ABC the guy with the blue police box for a while to solve that problem? I'm sure he wouldn't want too much for renting his services... ;-)
To everyone in the US and Canada: ENJOY and spare a thought for us poor Europeans who have to have another sleep before we find out what happens! Fingers crossed the promos live up to expectations!

Futheurs- it would be so cool to have one giant Castle viewing party for all the super fans! I'll be watching alone tonight, because none of my friends or family understand my obsession. I can't have them in the room with me, because they're all 'meh' and I'm screaming like a little girl at the Caskett moments! Nathan and Stana have amazing chemistry. Marlowe is lucky to have such actors acting for him. I have never seem such great chemistry between any other characters on television. I need to sleep so when I wake up I will get my caskett goodness here in India.
I love the chemistry between these two, but another duo that really had great on screen chemistry? Duchovny and Anderson, as Mulder and Scully - lots of similar back and forth and flirtations :) Ahh, I miss the XFiles! Glad to have Castle in it's place though! :D
Gillian Anderson as Scully, her close ups, the camera loved her, so subtle AND expresssive without having to telegraph the emotions, the audience felt everything Scully felt . Nobody since Anderson has been as compelling to watch up close on tv as Stana Katic. Same effortless beauty, haunted eyes, stoicism hanging on by a thread. The tiniest shift in her features can be like getting hit with a hammer. I've gone back recently and watched a lot of the smaller parts Stana played in her 20s, and in Castle she's seriously come into her own as an actor. So enjoyable to watch. What word did Castle use in Pandora when describing Nikki Heat, *nuanced?* That's her. Tonight's going to be tha bomb. Where's my Kleenex?
I agree completely! Part of the reason (in some ways unfortunate ;))Marlowe is able to continue his storytelling in subtext is b/c of the emotions she can exibit through her eyes. She is capable ofengaging in a meaningful conversation without a word spoken, and that's remarkable indeed!
trytryagain357 - well said! Gillian Anderson really knew how to be subtle and powerful at the same time. I haven't yet felt that same kind of chemistry on a tv show since XFiles and until Castle - same kind of easy going banter and that same ability to convey emotions when that camera is up close. Very very excited to see where this goes tonight! I wish that XF had done a bit better with the relationship between Mulder and Scully instead of where it went. I'm all about putting them together, but I don't think it should be easy or angst free - that conflict and that work to resolve issues is what makes it interesting and compelling. i just don't want them to get stale and comfortable...but i think i may be in the minority on that one in here ;)
@trytryagain357 - agree on both Gillian and Stana. But I also would like to introduce you to Yvonne Strahovski from "Chuck". She, too, can convey emotions very well with just a glance through her eyes. And when she snd Stana are called upon to do comedy, I think they pulled it off marvelously. Unfortunately, they don't seem to get enough credit for their talents.

GOD YES! I almost died when I saw the promo of him saying he loved her again and the kiss! I honestly think they should mix it up and have Ryan/esposito at loggerheads instead Castle/Beckett like it has been for the last 3 seasons!

I'm in Ireland and I watch it on watchseries.eu the episode is usually up on the website about half an hour after it airs in the US :) So it should be available to watch at about half 4!
One week. One week thinking about this episode..God I was more exited about this than I was about my birthday last week:D I mean this just has to be epic! But I don't know if I should be happy because of this episode or sad because of the ending of this season.. I mean 6 months? 5 hours to go people! Let's collectively stay strong and not melt down: We don't want anyone in the hospital from cardiac failure or a psychotic break... then you wouldn't be able to watch Castle! Kind of bittersweet though; I'm so freak'n excited for the finale but that also means no more new Castle episodes until late September. I don't know how i'm gonna make it the entire summer... advice anyone?!?!
My advise to is you is simple, just watch the series over starting with S1E1 all the way until you make it back to this episode! It's what I do to get me through, plus by the time you catch back up with current season it shouldn't be long before S5.
Fan fiction, fan videos, reruns, blog sites, the Nikki Heat books, and possibly a self- induced coma if all that doesn't hold me over during the summer!

I have steered away from spoilers for the finale... I want it to be a full surprise. Even though I have read all about the spoilers and the finale (which by the way- i'm dyeing to hear him say I love you and to see them kiss!!), I still want the scenes and emotions of the charectors to be a surprise to me. I am so fricken excited for tonight I can't even stand it. I'm like a teenage girl, I'm that obsessed. After watching all the trailers (like 14,000 times) and reading all of AM's teases, I think a lot of the episode is spelled out. (Not necessarily in this order) Kate goes after bad guys, secrets come out, she does not fall off the roof, she resigns, Castle says, "I love you" (more than once), and it's obvious that they kiss -- so all that's left is for Kate to say "I love you" back and then they do "the serious". How I will make it through the next 5 hours and 8 minutes is beyond me.

I won't be mad if they don't go all the way. What I want MOST is an "I love you" from Kate. Loud enough for us all to hear. It has to be so obvious. My advise to is you is simple, just watch the series over starting with S1E1 all the way until you make it back to this episode! It's what I do to get me through, plus by the time you catch back up with current season it shouldn't be long before S5.

Even though I have read all about the spoilers and the finale (which by the way- i'm dyeing to hear him say I love you and to see them kiss!!), I still want the scenes and emotions of the charectors to be a surprise to me. ReplyDeleteI am so fricken excited for tonight I can't even stand it. I'm like a teenage girl, I'm that obsessed. After watching all the trailers (like 14,000 times) and reading all of AM's teases, I think a lot of the episode is spelled out. (Not necessarily in this order) Kate goes after bad guys, secrets come out, she does not fall off the roof, she resigns, Castle says, "I love you" (more than once), and it's obvious that they kiss -- so all that's left is for Kate to say "I love you" back and then they do "the serious". How I will make it through the next 5 hours and 8 minutes is beyond me.
