I'm just glad that Castle and Beckett are back on the same team <3 I hope that they tie something into it that will connect it with the previous drama that went on. :)
Last time we saw Pearlmutter was in season 3's penultimate episode Pretty Dead (episode 23). Now he's back for season 4's Penultimate episode Undead Again (episode 22).
Can any one type up what the entire promo says? can't understand it all. From what I do hear.....FUNNY!!!!! And Pealmutter's back! YEAHHHH! He was always funny the way he was always negative and not being a people's person.
Maybe it's just my imagination but when that person goes running by Caskett and Beckett yells "What's going on?" it doesn't seem like they're arriving at a crime scene...well, not purposely, anyway...it almost seems like they're just strolling together. I mean, they both seem really perplexed and totally not expecting people to go running past them screaming, don't they? So, yeah...I keep remembering that Laurie Zaks, one of the executive producers, tweeted a few weeks ago that Christine Boylan, who wrote Undead Again, somehow managed to masterfully combine romance and zombies. Considering that statement, I'm thinking we might get some sweet Caskett stuff amidst all the zombie madness in this episode.
Hoping to see the US promo at some point this evening!
Elena, you're probably right, Caskett decides to leave the 12th for a little while so they can finally have a heart to heart without interruptions and wouldn't you know it, they get mobbed by zombies!!!! Talk about mother of all " cockblockers"!!!! Don't you just love this show!!!!
I LOVE the funny episodes. And the angsty ones. But we've had less funny lately, so this is much needed before the entire Castle fandom dies because of the finale anyway.
This looks like it will be hilarious! Castle's back to his old humor with Beckett. Of course, I'm more excited for the finale, but this will be good too. ;)
Is that from the finale or from Undead Again? They didn't seem very specific. Either way... wooooooooooo!!!!! She accepts his love!!!!!!! (cheesy, I know)
After watching both promos, I'm thinking that they get together in this episode. I mean, have you seen the pics for Always! They are so smiley around eachother, and their eyes are just full of love!
That does seem plausible.. but the whole blind item thing Ausiello talked about said that the couple would get together in the finale. While we don't know for sure that it's Caskett... who else could it possibly be?
Maybe they talk some after kate says shes finally able to deal with everything that happened that day but its all in subtext. they wont have a full out blow out of truth till the final but maybe a little nudge happens.
i just hyperventilated for the third time this week from Castle!!! did anyone take notice to what the narrator said in the US promo!!??? he said one more episode til the season finale that ends one chapter and can start another!! LIKE OMFG!!! this all but confirms they will get together in the finale!!!!!
and anther thing!!! {{{{{{{{{FINALE SPOIER ALERT}}}}}}}}}}}}}} OMGF if this is true i think its gonna be really sad how the Castle fandom wont live past the finale to see the Caskett relationship develop!!!! http://dontbeheartlessbekind.tumblr.com/post/21693806560/finale-soiler-alert ^^^^^^ AHHHHHHHHHHHHH -Carina
Holy shit, Carina, I rarely say this, but calm down! I'm a super, ginormous, crazy Castle fangirl too, but damn, you're giving me anxiety with all those exclamation points.
Uh oh. Guess what i just noticed...(I've been known to notice details) In the US promo when we see Beckett say "I finally am able to accept everything that happened that day" if u look at the person shes talking to in the corner of the screen of the promo the person has long hair so it looks like shes telling this to a girl. :(( So shes not saying it to Castle. Right before she said this in the promo when u see Castles face (which is why we all thought she said it to him) in the corner of that scene u see a man. So two different scenes and talking to different people.
Hmmm, the person she's talking to appears to have dark hair. Gates, perhaps? Maybe Lanie? Although I don't think Lanie's going to make an appearance in this episode with Perlmutter in the morgue.
Not sure who Beckett says that line to about finally accepting, but of its castle, you can bet espo or Ryan will interrupt just as she says that. No doubt! So I'm not fan girling over that. Every time they put some important scene in the promo, we as fans hope that's the beginning or maybe middle of a conversation, but it's always the climax, and then noting after that. Marlowe needs to move away from that, someone always interrupts castle and Beckett conversation, it's starting to be extmely unbelievable. That cannot happen ALL the time. That's pure dragging out a conversation just because, no real reason.
I don't understand the ABC promo, what's with all the past epsiode clips.
Can't make out what was being said in the CTV promo. This is what I heard:
Narrator: On the next Castle... Random person: Run!! Beckett: What's going on? Castle: (something)....aim for the head? Medical examiner: He was an alive man, now he's a dead man. Beckett: Castle call for backup! Castle: My friends, that, is a zombie. Castle: Killed a zombie! (high fives)
I think Castle's line when he high fives someone in the precinct is, "Killer is a zombie!" I can't make out the line in the middle though when he and Kate are out in the street. And I taped it right off TV and re-watched it several times, with the volume way up. JM
That conversation about Beckett finally accepting everything thats happened may not even come out. Remember the headhunters promo, the scene with espo telling Ryan that castle and Beckett are pulling away Om each ther never came out. So yeah we may not see that.
And if she is even talking to castle, I agree with anon 9.11, somebody will disrupt them...my guess is espo this time, maybe gates. But that conversation probably won't go anywhere. So don't get your hopes up guys. The promo is always so tricky, and AM loves to interrupt their conversations.
I'm getting seriously fed up with Marlowe pulling this trick with interruptions being used to forestall anything happening as characters (unlike in real life) never go back to the conversation which is silly.
The first few times they pulled this trick I thought okay but now when it happens I just get annoyed because it's so obvious and totally unrealistic.
I presume he thinks either the audience is stupid or thinks it's funny. Well I'm not stupid and no I don't think it's funny. I wouldn't mind if they were interrupted but foudn a way to continue having the conversation in some way but that never happens.
So please Marlowe ditch this particular plot device it's kind of getting embarrassing.
And I agree with you any confession she is making there will get duly interrupted never to be brought up again.
I think Castle was a zombie in that first clip in the Canadian promo.
It looks like Marlowe went for fun and whilst I can understand certain fans wanting to take a break from all the recent relationship drama of the past few episodes, where is the pacing and continuity here?
This season has been lousy for that in my view. I realise these are only clips so I should wait for the episode but if they just have some zany filler with no mention of what Kate and Rick have been going through then I shall be really disappointed because that's sloppy story telling in my book.
As for saving everything for the finale, there is already too much to be stuffed into one episode to do anything proper justice in my view, at most everyone will get a few minutes to speak and then it's on to the next thing. Instead if everything had been better paced out over a number of episodes (especially Rick's sekrit which has gone nowhere) you could have developed things properly and saved the explosions and such for the finale.
I do hope that comment from Elena that the writer this episode has combined romance and zombies is right. I need to see Kate especially look like she finally wants this guy because at the moment I have a hard time buying she intends to do anything about it. She talks a lot to Lanie and her therapist but never does anything! You want this man well go and get him girl! It would be nice if Castle could be thrown a bone or two of comfort before the finale that he has hope.
And I figure the line from Kate that she's finally accepted it - means she's finally accepted either her mother's death or the shooting - which of course will be just before she finds out Rick's been sitting on those files!
Agree with some of you...Marlowe has messed up quite a bit in the area of continuity and charact development. In interviews we hear that Beckett is growing nd developing...but on screen you don't see it. Where's her push? Where's her drive to move forward? As for castle, I am one of those fans who disagreed that it's ok for him to revert to his old ways to get over Beckett. He is supposed to have grown up too, so what happened there?
I get that Marlowe has his storyline and he knows where it's going, so he can have the patience to sit through the utter stupidity of castle nd Beckett. But we as viewers have no idea, just guesses. And most of us on this site have got it wrong 98 percent of the time.
It's sad that there are some fans who have become so annoyed that they now hate castle or Beckett. When you make your own fans hate a character they have loved, you've done something wrong. I get fans being upset or frustrated pr even angry with the characters, but to hate them? Thats saying a lot about the writing. Not sure if Marlowe knows this, but just go through the discussion for Limey and headhunters, you will see what I mean about fans hating on the lead characters. Hating to a point, where some suggest castle should just ignore Beckett because she is selfish and have fun, and then ther are some saying Beckett should just go after Colin because castle isn't worth it. What happened to the epic love story Marlowe is suppose to be building??? Is this how it's suppose to play out? I don't blame the fans, the writing evoked these feelings in them. And if Marlowe's way of smoothing things over or asking us to be patient is by saying cards will be on the table, well another epic failure then. As he has said this too many times for fans to believ it anymore. He turned two lovable characters into characters that are so thoroughhly disliked now. Hope he fixes it, because I see season 5 going up in flames if they keep up this very stale by stagnant plot.
You have a point and if you'd written this straight after Limey I (and many others I think) would would have agreed 100% but I think Marlow has recovered a little in Headhunters and hopefully he'll make it all the way back in Undead Again.
So when the DVD comes out, just skip Limey and go straight from 47 seconds to Headhunters and you'll feel a whole lot better.
In other words, it's all that darned limey's fault. Hope we never see him and hear his crappy accent ever again.
Agree with you Anon 11.31 PM just coming back from my previous post. I don't see Kate's drive much either to progress and take what she wants, a few therapy sessions and that's it, most of it happens off screen or I get told about it in interviews. That's not how to tell a story you need to see it develop in screen to be fully invested in her journey in my view and I'm not really because you see so little about it and she seems to unwilling to act. A lot of things seem to happen offscreen in Marlowe's show and the constant interruptions to avoid talking just grow annoying.
As for the recent Kate and Castle hate that's just bad writing in my view. You should never make your fans hate the characters you've created. Yes they can be upset at them, angry, confused, want them to change their ways but not hating them. Why would anyone want to do that to such previously loveable characters? You want to take your fans with you on your journey not turn them against the characters the point where some people don't recognize them anymore and actively want them to be kept apart! I haven't enjoyed the recent story arc since 47 seconds and the secret reveal because firstly nothing happened to move plot forward, just more stalling, sure Rick knows Kate's secret - but then what? Nothing has happened! You might aswell have not mentioned it because it will only be dealt with in the finale like just about everything this season it seems like to me. Again very poor pacing.
And if Marlowe tells me one more time that the characters are going to "lay their cards on the table" I shall scream. They never pick the cards up and look at them! Nothing ever happens to move anything forward, it just gets rewound back to them not talking and then we have another "laying their cards on the table" speech the next season at the finale. It's getting OLD.
I still LOVE the show I hasten to add, I've watched it from the pilot but this season has not been anywhere close to what it could have been for me given Rise, Cops & Robbers etc then everything just fell apart and the Casket romance just died. I can's see the great love story Marlowe keeps talking about either frankly and squeezing a love scene into 2 minutes of the finale won't make it any better sadly.
I just hope Marlowe sorts himself out in season 5, more backsliding on their relationship and it could be his last.
Yes! I agree completely. It was really the fault of the "The Limey"; that episode messed with character development and made both Castle and Beckett seem unpleasant. If you skip that episode, and watch "Headhunters" after "47 seconds" instead, the arc actually makes sense and remains truer to the characters.
The other scene that bothered me was that awkward hand-holding in "Embarrassment of Bitches"...that scene should have been cut or reworked. That moment was a perfect example of where they chose emotional angst over humor. I think viewers would have been more patient with the relationship stagnation if they had thrown in more lighthearted & flirty moments. Among the post-"Kill Shot" episodes, "Cuffed" and "The Blue Butterfly" had a few moments like that, as did "Till Death do us part". Unfortunately the latter half of the season was slim pickings...
The season has had good moments though: "Pandora/Linchpin" were strong episodes--I was only disappointed by the car-in-the-river cliffhanger. Their escape seemed devoid of realism & they barely acknowledged each other afterwords...alas, so many missed opportunities for warmth this season!
I truly only think people are hating on this season because they are impatient. I definitely agree that AM & the crew talked up this 5-eppy arc WAYYY too much (I was expecting way more excitement), but that is the only problem here. If AM (and Ausiello) hadn't hinted at a Beckett/Castle hook-up then I would just as patiently be expecting a semi-dramatic finale. It's all about expectations.
to add to that... no one would have been (as) frustrated with the angst in the Limey and Headhunters. People would have just been excited about the finale. I blame this on the whole PaleyFest interview, they made it seem like this arc was gonna be awesome. They probably were just doing that as a way to keep fans interested til the finale, cus I know I woulda been outski a couple weeks ago if I didn't know the awesome-ness that was headed our way on May 7th.
I remember that in the Paley Fest interview they WARNED US that there was going to be a part of this so-called "five episode arc" where Castle and Beckett have a "thing" where things get really bad between them before getting really, really good. So from my point of view that made the outrageously negative reaction to The Limey especially really funny because it's not like they didn't warn us! I see people regularly pointing the finger of blame at the creators of this show (and specifically Andrew Marlowe) for misleading them, but often it's actually journalists and the like NOT connected to ABC or the show that are supposedly misleading them. This doesn't mean that Andrew Marlowe is a God who can do no wrong. A lot of the things he says can easily be interpreted in different ways by different people. He has to be cryptic to some extent. If he just gave away what happens then he would be getting accused of spoiling the surprises for everyone wouldn't he?! Effectively then he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
I found this site before the start of Season 4 and have been mostly observing people's wonderful theories and joining in myself from time to time. Being in New Zealand we are so bloody far behind the US that "Head Case" is on tomorrow night! Ah well that will keep me going during the hiatus in America lol. To be totally honest, it wasn't until after Pandora aired that people started complaining about being mislead and that Season 4 was a waste of time to them. I get people are frustrated but there were quite a lot of horrible, venomous comments being flung in Andrew Marlowe's direction especially. He is trying to tell the story the way he sees it. Not everyone is going to be happy with how he does it and often it's those who are unhappy that voice their opinions the loudest. Overall I think Season 4 has been another fantastic season of this great show. If you believe the noises Michael Auseillo has been making recently then this show is about to get even better!
I felt they talked it up at Paley way too much and suggested that this five episode story arc would be something great with lots going on and then - nothing. Kate spilled her secret but there was no talking about it and the characters just became unloveable to me.
It was a simple way to make you keep watching what was basically filler until the finale, okay fair enough it worked on me I watched them all and I will be back for the finale but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Regarding comments about pacing and fan frustration, for me this has been going on almost all season in terms of stringing out a story that never got really dealt with properly (the secrets). I liked everything up until about Killshot but then Castkett stalled and it just seemed endless filler.
If you were a casual viewer to this show and wanted to know what had gone on regarding the secrets the only episodes you absolutely need to watch I feel are RISE, Killshot, M for Mayor and 47 seconds and the finale. That's five episodes out 23 - now that is bad pacing in my view.
So my frustration stems from the season since Killshot actually not just this lousy five story arc where no story actually gets told.
I shall just have to satisfy myself with zombies running around and Kate and Rick seemingly acting like nothing ever happened in the last few episodes. Would it be too much to ask that they actually spoke to each other about their relationship a bit you know like people do in the real world, guess a Castle fangirl can hold on to the dream!
Anon 12.14 AM here again. Once I knew that there would be a "secrets theme" to Season 4 it was inevitable to me that everything was going to be resolved at the end of the season. I feel in my opinion that the secrets were intended to force both Rick and Kate to stop avoiding their feelings for each other. They pretty much explained why both of them have behaved the way they did since before 47 Seconds. Rick was showing the greatest respect to Kate by waiting for her and not pushing the issue after she told him back in Rise that she didn't think she could give herself fully to a relationship until the Dragon was brought to justice. This is why he told his mother in the scene after discovering that Kate had lied to him that he was (or had been) "willing to wait". Kate on the other hand has been shown to be a little green when it comes to love. She has been buried in her mother's death for so long that she built up her wall and has been hiding behind it ever since, despite her best intentions to be a better person without her mother's murder defining her any more (the final scene of Kill Shot). She was still hiding behind it up until The Limey where Lanie forced her to indirectly admit her true feelings. This is why they haven't appeared to progress like people have wanted this season. It could be argued that these mindsets of the two of them are a deliberate roadblock put in place by Andrew Marlowe but I disagree with that kind of sentiment. I am like the "shippers", in that I want to see Rick and Kate get together, but I don't want to see them stuck together on a whim in a blind hope that it will make the fans happy and the show will still be strong afterwards. That is why I am happy for Andrew Marlowe to take them down this road and force them to eventually stop avoiding their feelings.
In terms of what has been coined "filler" episodes, every single season of Castle has had a majority of them. From what I understand the "non-filler" episodes are the ones that involve the Johanna Beckett murder or are relating to the Castle/Beckett relationship. If you take that into consideration only about 9-10 episodes over all four seasons could be considered to be truly "non-filler" episodes. I know it's easy to think that they're dragging things out but you have to remember that they can't resolve things too quickly otherwise they'd run out of things to keep this show going very fast. Andrew Marlowe has stated enough times in the past that he thinks there is still a lot of material he can work with once Rick and Kate are together. He also doesn't want to rush them into a relationship too fast and wants to do it in a way that he feels is real to the viewers. Like I said in my last post, not everyone will agree with it but I fall into the group that does. Therefore I stand by my assertion that I think Season 4 has been another great season of this great show.
Nice post 3.30 AM although I must admit I don't agree that it's been a good season due to the lack of pacing and continuity, I do believe the secrets were one giant roadblock inserted into the show in a clumsy way to derail Kate and Rick still further.
However, I do respect your viewpoint and the great way you explained how you felt and why it's a positive viewing experience for you which is all good.
For me the issue of "filler" episodes is that I don't mind filler and I quite understand that you can't have the Castle romance and JB murder front and centre in every episode - this is not a soap opera. That said, the lack of references to anything relating to their relationship or the secrets for large portions of the season have been very jarring for me. Couple that with far too much subtext and not enough proper dialogue between the characters and it's been difficult to watch. For example Kate's PTSD, we see it in Rise, she gets one episode to show us again (Killshot), then we never hear about it again. Same with her therapist he makes two appearances and by Killshot he's gone - our window into Kate's life is closed until Headhunters. Rick's secret is it troubling him to keep it? No idea they don't show us. Does Kate love Rick? Still no idea she doesn't tell us.
For me the whole story arc from 47 seconds has been a waste of time, it looked dramatic when Rick first found out but then it fell totally flat in my view.
He finds out, is angry and doesn't tell her, she has no idea and does nothing. In the Limey, he still doesn't tell, she has no idea, she talks to Lanie but still does nothing. In Headhunters, he still doesn't talk to her, she talks to her therapist and still she won't do anything. So where is the progress in that? And do we really think that Undead Again will have them talking? I don't think so because we all know that Marlowe is saving everything up to the finale. So this story arc has been a failure for me.
And to make things worse the great sexual tension these two used to have for each other just disappeared from me after Cops & Robbers, you had to get what you could out of a shoulder bump or a grab of the hand or a long look which could mean anything.
I really do love the show and want it to continue for many seasons to come but another season like this one and I will be sadly finding something else to watch which will really upset me because with a little tweaking it could be back to the heady says in seasons 1/2. However, I know there are lots of fans who do love this season so I'm sure Marlowe won't be worrying too much what I think!
Anons 12.14 & 3.30 here again. You do make some valid points Anon 5.52 AM. They haven't shown too much of Kate's PTSD or her appointments with her shrink. I guess this is because they didn't want to overdo things or reveal too much too soon. I would've loved to see more Dr. Burke scenes but I guess they were in a pattern where they wanted to slowly unravel Kate and putting Dr. Burke in there regularly would've taken things out of context for them. I don't know too much about PTSD but I imagine that it is something that doesn't go away just like that and therefore I wonder if Kate will struggle with it once more when she discovers the sniper who shot her. From what I do know PTSD usually needs a trigger, in Kate's case it is having a gun pointed at her or dealing with something like the sniper case. Since she hasn't had a gun pointed at her that much this season it's understandable why they haven't forced her to suffer the symptoms of PTSD that often.
I know that other people don't see it the same way I do, but this "episode arc" that began in 47 Seconds is designed, like the secrets, to force Kate and Rick to stop tip-toeing around each other and talk about the things that REALLY matter to them. Both of them have proven to be really hopeless at communicating with each other about how they truly feel, but that is the beauty of these characters. They are not perfect and both of them have their flaws. They are still passing through the stormy weather that was forecast by the cast and creators of this show, but they have promised us that once that storm passes things will get really, really good. Couple that with the noises Michael Auseillo has been making then it looks like things are going to get really, really good! People find it easy to have a gripe at Andrew Marlowe over things they think he could've done/said better, but if people's expectations aren't met by the end of this season I highly doubt that they will berate Stana for what she's said!
I don't think they are holding hands, it's just a trick of the light and the way that he is standing close next to her. He does reach his hands out a bit to touch her when the guy runs past but that's it.
I doubt Kate is going to go from Headhunters to holding hands with Rick in under one episode. Their romance has been conducted at the pace of a snail so they won't be rushing into anything!
no i dont think they are holding hands either but it looks like, when the zombies are getting closer around them, that Castle is kind of in front of Beckett and he has his hand on the front of her hip in a sort of protective way!! im going crazy about this whats going to happen to me if the blind item actually is them!! :D -Carina
Looks like a fun episode, but I'm wondering how things are. I wouldn't really make sence if we went from headhunters to them being fine working together. But then we know they don't talk till the finale. That's my only issue...lack of continuity it seems in this episode. But I shall save comments for after. Also I'm very sure if Beckett is saying that to castle, about accepting everything, they will get interrupted, for sure. Marlowe has a reputation to uphold right. And he always does that.
Yeah that scene is meant to trick us. Nothing will come out of it. Abc just wants us to watch, so they create it that way, but we know the show and Marlowe too well to fall for Abcs trick. If they actually talk, I will be shocked. Because that isn't Marlowe's thing, he likes silence. Apparently that's how epic romances are made.
The Princess Bride would've been soooo boring if Wesley had just come out and explained about the Dread Pirate Roberts. I don't mind a little detour on the way to true love. It does make for a more epic romance.
Weird promo, only one scene is from the episode. Strange. You can heresy assured that if it's an important conversation, it will be interrupted. The last talk they had was last may, and a year later they talk again...wow! So can we assume they will have the next talk after the finale, next seasons finale. And fill the in between with smiles and looks. I realize reading this blog that Marlowe is predictable...everyone almost has the same comment about cards on the tabs, and cockblocking. That just shows how repetitive Marlowe has been. It really is silly that castle and Beckett never ever ever get a chance to talk without interruptions. That doesn't happen in the real world all the time you know.
oh definitely, they will be interupted by ryan or espo...they always are...getting to be very very annoying. in real life people usually get back to a conversation later, but not them...they just leave it be. BORING.
I am waiting for a scene where C&B sit down to have a chat & as usual they get interrupted...finally Beckett gets so tee'd off she whips out her gun and says: "The next person who disturbs me is getting a bullet through their skull!"
This episode looks to be HILARIOUS! But I sorta wish they didn't put that "zombie" on the examining table popping up like that scene in the promo; kinda ruins the fun lol. Scene's still pretty funny though, with Becket chasing after him and telling Castle to call for backup.
Totally agree Anon 03.29 AM the fact everyone knows that any conversation she was going to have will be interrupted tells you all you need to know about how predictable Marlowe has been getting (in my view obviously). The fact the "cards are being laid on the table" again this is similar to what he said before and a new game started of stalling the Rick and Kate.
In real life when you get interrupted by someone clearly wanting to ask you something you either come back to the conversation a little later or you ask the person interrupting to hold off and leave you alone for a second. It's just lazy writing in my view and at first I didn't mind it that much but Marlowe now keeps doing it over and over again and each time I get a little more angry and feel my intelligence is being insulted.
He thinks it's clever well I think it's just lazy story telling - he then can just stall the plot further so they never ever talk.
These characters need to have a proper ADULT conversation which means both exchanging dialogue with each other - I wonder if Marlowe has forgotten what that is? This season I believe he might have done. I can't remember when this couple last had a decent conversation about what was going on with them - not this season unless you count Rise.
It's absolutely true that the lack of conversation has been frustrating so far, but at this point there are only 2 episodes to go...it's probably best to wait until the season wraps up before passing judgment.
There is still a little time for the writers to redeem themselves, and I think they will. Judging by the promo, Beckett seems all set to talk, and she's just waiting for the right moment.
The fact that Beckett admits she is ready to talk is huge since she was the biggest stumbling block this season. The remaining question is how Castle will respond (since it's not clear if he has completely gotten over being hurt).
I think they will try to have a conversation throughout this episode, but will be constantly interrupted by zombies. If those interruptions are done in an amusing way, I will forgive the writers. However, I am expecting C&B to make some realistic progress by the end of the episode. If not I will seriously doubt the writers' ability to provide a satisfying season finale. You can't resolve a season of non-communication in one episode...especially if the blind item is true.
One day AM and wife made a bet with the writers: -I bet fans will still focus on Caskett no mater how awesome the episode plot is. -I don't know. They focussed on them when we did that one with A TIGER. A TIGER, man! -Yeah, well, a tiger is pretty good, but if we give the something really shocking I'm sure they'll forget Caskett for a while. -How shocking? I mean, we've had the CIA, UFOs, vampires and werewolves, explosions... -Yeah but that can happen for real. -What vampires? -Well, you know what I mean. -Ok so what about...ZOMBIES. [SILENCE] -Yeah, I'm sure fans will be so shocked by them that they will only comment on where zombies came from. -[everyone]Yeah, yeah, of course.
(a few hours after the promo all comments are on the couple) ;)
Sorry, writers, but no plot will ever be powerful or interesting enough to distract me from Caskett! I mean, the murder case is usually good, but it's just a side dish to my main entree. ;)
I hate that we may all be right in that her little declaration wont go any further. Just shows how well we know this show and Marlowe's style. But seriously though, aren't you guys just completely and totally fed up with them. I know I am. This episode will have no progress, then they hash it out in the finale but what's the point in knowing how each other feels if they aren't going to get together. Wasnt that what happened this season, and look how stale and bland it was. If they don't get togethere, then season 5 will just be them giving each other looks and glances. I don't know what to make of the show anymore.Marlowe keeps saying he has lots in store for when they get together, well get going then, show us, because now things are just ridiculous already.
No, I'm not fed up with them at all. I am however completely and totally loving this show and this season. The only thing I'm completely and totally fed up with are people who can't think of anything good to say so they have to whine and complain.
'It costs nothing to say something kind. Even less to shut up altogether' - Nathan Fillion
So true, Anon 8:04. The thing that has bothered me the most about this season isn't the snail- paced Caskett ship. It's the whiney fans that never had anything useful to say and all they do is complain. If it weren't for the few intelligent people on this site, I would leave it altogether.
Same here Anon 8:04 and 8:26! I'm tired of hearing people complain and assuming we all feel the same way, i.e. disappointed with AM, lack of progress, etc. A bunch of whiny, fairweather fans if you ask me. There's no other show on TV I'd rather be watching than Castle. Enjoy the ride people!
I do not watch Castle -I ended at the end of last season. It seems that my predictions how this show is going further were very kind. Sorry folks - you make the main characters so pathetic that it is painful to watch.
You know the day castle and Beckett actually talk about their feelings and relationship...pigs will fly...forget it, that scene with Beckett saying she is accepting things will end there, nothing more.
Perhaps it's coming...but I think it will be rushed and stuffed into the last 5 minutes of the finale.
There is supposed to be an emotional cliffhanger at season's end & I imagine that's going to be the outcome of C&B's relationship conversation. Even if C&B admit their feelings to each other, that doesn't mean they will do anything about it right away aside from looking at each other with a longing, bewildered expression.
I think that the secrets & life threatening situations in the finale will end up traumatizing them a bit and they'll both agree to spend time apart to recover. In season 5 they'll get back together to solve a case and at that point (I'm hoping) they'll realize how much they missed each other and attempt to begin a real relationship at that point.
I really hope the writers will surprise me, but after so many false hopes & letdowns so far it's hard to believe
This season my biggest disappointed was the development of Beckett. The missed opportunity of really great writing. Taking her from being closed off to finding her way of opening up. They could have done this with great creativity but they didn't. The only time this year I believed Kate stepped up, was in headhunters. Finally she put Castle first, instead of coming out and saying I love you, she showed him she loved him by putting her job on the line for him. Now that is great writing.
Yeah, but Ryan and Esposito are on her team; Castle was not during Headhunters. No matter that she felt him pulling away and thought he'd been acting like a jackass, she still put her neck on the line. She's got his back, no matter what, which seemed to surprise Castle a bit, so, like Anon 8:10 said, it was a good way to show she loved him. As a side, she presumably trusts that Ryan & Espo can take care of themselves, as cops, but she clearly was worried that Castle could not. Obviously, she would always back them up, but when she started investigating for Castle, it was not justice she was worried about; it was his safety. That cart-before-the-horse thinking seems to apply uniquely to Castle for Beckett. Think back to Kick the Ballistics or Den of Thieves; Ryan and Esposito had each other's backs when they both went a little off track, because, "that's what partners are supposed to do". Castle is Beckett's partner; they're all on the same team, but it is different.
I have no issue with people who have their own - maybe negatively- opinion. But to say that the whole season was rubbish is too much for me! Make it better first!!!
Okay to the promo:
It will be a light and funny episode... So can't stop laughing till watching the Canadian promo - can't watch the other one, my internet strikes... - and that there are Caskett- moments is more than clear^^ I can imagine that this episode could share the "1st Place of favorite episodes" with Cuffed and C&R...
Couldn't Marlowe have paced out this season better and given us a couple more Caskett-centric episodes instead of just cramming everything in the finale? We have waited so long, this whole season so to speak, to see some progress on the Caskett front and I am sure that all we are going to get is a couple of minutes in the finale and no more. This season had so much potential, Beckett's secret could have been out mid-season, C & B could have fought and argued over it, discussed their fears with each other or with their friends/family, there could have been more sessions with Beckett and her shrink, more Beckett and Lanie moments together, more Martha and Castle moments; we could have had so many more beautiful scenes. But instead, Marlowe decided to give us nothing, except this ridiculous 5 episode arc. And now he is going to cram everything in the last episode and keep us hanging till the next season. So not fair.
You know everyone has their opinion and there are lots of negative comments about this finale but can't you just think about the positive parts? I mean this season there were some great Caskett moments, like in cops and robbers, cuffed, ;) even the recent episodes... though they are painful to watch, they are very good and once they do get into a relationship, they will have one less problem to deal with.
I agree - this season was not a bust, as some people have suggested. I think we've had some great moments, like in Cuffed, Cops and Robbers, and Till Death Do Us Part. Cuffed was actually my favourite episode of the whole season - so far, at least!! This season, it's just been about Rick and Kate - no boyfriends/girlfriends - just them. I think they have gotten much closer; Kate has been more relaxed with Rick and has let her guard down a bit. I for one am hoping for a great finale!! JM
I have just noticed one thing wathching the promo: I thought the moment when Beck explains she is accepting that happenned that day was extracted from the season finale, but actually I think she says that in next week episode! Maybe it is already obvious to you!! Look she wears the same orange coat (WTF?) as in the promotional pictures of "undead again"...!
So maybe she will say this sentence, making Castle go crazy a little bit, wondering what she means exactly... and then the full confrontation will take place in the season finale.
The person in front of her isnt Castle, probably lanie. However, I do think some progression will take place towards, Always. JB's case will probably start to show its ugly head by the end of Undead Again!
The US promo had nothing to do with the zombie episode, did it? Looks like somebody was rushing to make a promo before they even had the appropriate footage in their hands.
I think ABC was just going for the relationship angle. They want viewers to get psyched up so they'll tune in for both the penultimate & the finale, since May sweeps are nearly upon us.
You're right though, CTV usually does a better job of making informative promos.
I'm just glad that Castle and Beckett are back on the same team <3 I hope that they tie something into it that will connect it with the previous drama that went on. :)
ReplyDeleteAWSOME HOW DID you get this so fast?
ReplyDeleteBest part is Castle saying, "We caught us a zombie!" then the high five. I loled!
ReplyDeleteThe high five was awesome! My other favorite part was Beckett chasing the zombie out of the morgue & yelling "Castle call for backup!" LOL
DeleteOMG!! Did Castle actually High Five "The Iron Gates"??
ReplyDeleteit doesn't look like Gates, must be some random detective.
DeleteIt's probably some random person.. but it looks a little like Gates!
DeleteThat first zombie...it looks like Castle!!! Or I'm I just seeing things?
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks like Castle!
DeleteI loled at the part where Beckett was running after the Zombie "call for backup!!
And wow, havent seen that ME since season 2! Nice to see a familar face again!
Haha yeah, I guess Dr. Perlmutter came back from the dead just for this episode.
DeleteLast time we saw Pearlmutter was in season 3's penultimate episode Pretty Dead (episode 23). Now he's back for season 4's Penultimate episode Undead Again (episode 22).
DeleteAnon 7:25, I was thinking the same thing. Weird how Perlmutter disappears for a season an then randomly turns up again.
DeleteI thought it was Lanie. Was it Gates??
ReplyDeletePealmutter's back!! I love Lanie, but I enjoy him so much, too!
ReplyDeleteCan any one type up what the entire promo says? can't understand it all. From what I do hear.....FUNNY!!!!! And Pealmutter's back! YEAHHHH! He was always funny the way he was always negative and not being a people's person.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly understand it either- I'll try and type it up when we get a better quality version.
DeleteMaybe Castle has to go undercover as a zombie! Sure he love that.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just my imagination but when that person goes running by Caskett and Beckett yells "What's going on?" it doesn't seem like they're arriving at a crime scene...well, not purposely, anyway...it almost seems like they're just strolling together.
ReplyDeleteHoping to see the US promo at some point this evening!
Elena, you're probably right, Caskett decides to leave the 12th for a little while so they can finally have a heart to heart without interruptions and wouldn't you know it, they get mobbed by zombies!!!! Talk about mother of all " cockblockers"!!!! Don't you just love this show!!!!
DeleteI agree with both of u. Now lets just hope its true. :D
DeleteI LOVE the funny episodes. And the angsty ones. But we've had less funny lately, so this is much needed before the entire Castle fandom dies because of the finale anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like it will be hilarious! Castle's back to his old humor with Beckett. Of course, I'm more excited for the finale, but this will be good too. ;)
ReplyDelete"I can finally accept what happened that day."
ReplyDeleteIs that from the finale or from Undead Again? They didn't seem very specific. Either way... wooooooooooo!!!!! She accepts his love!!!!!!! (cheesy, I know)
It's from Undead Again. She's wearing the same jacket as she is in the spoiler pics.
DeleteI noticed that too! Ahhh i feel like I'm about to die from lack of breathing!!
DeleteABC fails again as usual. Why show us clips from all the other episodes we've already seen this season?? I want to see fresh material, baby!
ReplyDeleteTears of happiness...I can't wait
ReplyDeleteI was here for Caskett and for the case and for the show, but now i just wanna watch the high five scene XD
ReplyDeleteI'm amazingly happy that Pearlmutter back, alternating the Medical Examiners adds a great sense of realism.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching both promos, I'm thinking that they get together in this episode.
ReplyDeleteI mean, have you seen the pics for Always! They are so smiley around eachother, and their eyes are just full of love!
That does seem plausible.. but the whole blind item thing Ausiello talked about said that the couple would get together in the finale. While we don't know for sure that it's Caskett... who else could it possibly be?
DeleteMaybe they talk some after kate says shes finally able to deal with everything that happened that day but its all in subtext. they wont have a full out blow out of truth till the final but maybe a little nudge happens.
DeleteAre they holding hands at the beginning of the CTV promo? It looks like they are to me.
ReplyDeletei just hyperventilated for the third time this week from Castle!!! did anyone take notice to what the narrator said in the US promo!!??? he said one more episode til the season finale that ends one chapter and can start another!! LIKE OMFG!!! this all but confirms they will get together in the finale!!!!!
ReplyDeleteand anther thing!!! {{{{{{{{{FINALE SPOIER ALERT}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
OMGF if this is true i think its gonna be really sad how the Castle fandom wont live past the finale to see the Caskett relationship develop!!!! http://dontbeheartlessbekind.tumblr.com/post/21693806560/finale-soiler-alert
^^^^^^ AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-Carina
About the finale spoiler alert, what if it's Montgomery's grave? Let's not get our hopes up too much.
DeleteHoly shit, Carina, I rarely say this, but calm down! I'm a super, ginormous, crazy Castle fangirl too, but damn, you're giving me anxiety with all those exclamation points.
DeleteAt the end of the US clip Nathan looks SOOOOO good! Is that from another episode??! Has he lifted his eyebrows like that to her recently??! Yummmm!
ReplyDeleteTill Death Do Us Part.
DeleteUh oh.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, the person she's talking to appears to have dark hair. Gates, perhaps? Maybe Lanie? Although I don't think Lanie's going to make an appearance in this episode with Perlmutter in the morgue.
DeleteNot sure who Beckett says that line to about finally accepting, but of its castle, you can bet espo or Ryan will interrupt just as she says that.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the ABC promo, what's with all the past epsiode clips.
^^^ Look at the comment above u. Shes not even talking to castle when she says that in the promo.
DeleteAND.... Thats the only scene from undead again! Rest are alll compilations from the entire season setting up for the finale...
DeleteCan't make out what was being said in the CTV promo. This is what I heard:
ReplyDeleteNarrator: On the next Castle...
DeleteJM
OMG ... I am gonna love this Zombie one. Its going to be funny before it gets serious for the Always...LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat conversation about Beckett finally accepting everything thats happened may not even come out. Remember the headhunters promo, the scene with espo telling Ryan that castle and Beckett are pulling away Om each ther never came out. So yeah we may not see that.
ReplyDeleteAnd if she is even talking to castle, I agree with anon 9.11, somebody will disrupt them...my guess is espo this time, maybe gates.
DeleteThe first few times they pulled this trick I thought okay but now when it happens I just get annoyed because it's so obvious and totally unrealistic.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Marlowe went for fun and whilst I can understand certain fans wanting to take a break from all the recent relationship drama of the past few episodes, where is the pacing and continuity here?
ReplyDeleteI get that Marlowe has his storyline and he knows where it's going, so he can have the patience to sit through the utter stupidity of castle nd Beckett.
DeleteSo when the DVD comes out, just skip Limey and go straight from 47 seconds to Headhunters and you'll feel a whole lot better.
DeleteAs for the recent Kate and Castle hate that's just bad writing in my view.
@Anon11:47 PM
DeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteto add to that...
Deleteno one would have been (as) frustrated with the angst in the Limey and Headhunters.
DeleteI found this site before the start of Season 4 and have been mostly observing people's wonderful theories and joining in myself from time to time.
DeleteIt was a simple way to make you keep watching what was basically filler until the finale, okay fair enough it worked on me I watched them all and I will be back for the finale but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
DeleteIn terms of what has been coined "filler" episodes, every single season of Castle has had a majority of them.
DeleteHowever, I do respect your viewpoint and the great way you explained how you felt and why it's a positive viewing experience for you which is all good.
DeleteI know that other people don't see it the same way I do, but this "episode arc" that began in 47 Seconds is designed, like the secrets, to force Kate and Rick to stop tip-toeing around each other and talk about the things that REALLY matter to them.
Kaela, yes, I think they were holding hands when the scared woman runs past.
ReplyDeleteSo how did THAT happen?
Do they leave the precinct to have an uninterrupted conversation about her secret and end up hand in hand???
My mind is slowly blowing aaaaaaaaaaaarrrghh!!
I don't think they are holding hands, it's just a trick of the light and the way that he is standing close next to her. He does reach his hands out a bit to touch her when the guy runs past but that's it.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Kate is going to go from Headhunters to holding hands with Rick in under one episode.
Delete-Carina
Caskett and Zombies… i wish i could come up with some smart comment or analysis but all i can come up with is "YEEEAAAH"
ReplyDeleteoooooh this is gonna be good!!! I'm already thrilled
ReplyDeleteYeah that scene is meant to trick us.
DeleteThat was funny, Anon 7:28...
DeleteThe Princess Bride would've been soooo boring if Wesley had just come out and explained about the Dread Pirate Roberts. I don't mind a little detour on the way to true love. It does make for a more epic romance.
DeleteWeird promo, only one scene is from the episode.
ReplyDeleteoh definitely, they will be interupted by ryan or espo...they always are...getting to be very very annoying. in real life people usually get back to a conversation later, but not them...they just leave it be. BORING.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for a scene where C&B sit down to have a chat & as usual they get interrupted...finally Beckett gets so tee'd off she whips out her gun and says: "The next person who disturbs me is getting a bullet through their skull!"
Deletelol, Anon 6:58. So true.
DeleteThis episode looks to be HILARIOUS! But I sorta wish they didn't put that "zombie" on the examining table popping up like that scene in the promo; kinda ruins the fun lol. Scene's still pretty funny though, with Becket chasing after him and telling Castle to call for backup.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Anon 03.29 AM the fact everyone knows that any conversation she was going to have will be interrupted tells you all you need to know about how predictable Marlowe has been getting (in my view obviously). The fact the "cards are being laid on the table" again this is similar to what he said before and a new game started of stalling the Rick and Kate.
ReplyDeleteIn real life when you get interrupted by someone clearly wanting to ask you something you either come back to the conversation a little later or you ask the person interrupting to hold off and leave you alone for a second.
DeleteThere is still a little time for the writers to redeem themselves, and I think they will.
One day AM and wife made a bet with the writers:
ReplyDelete-I bet fans will still focus on Caskett no mater how awesome the episode plot is.
[SILENCE]
-Yeah, I'm sure fans will be so shocked by them that they will only comment on where zombies came from.
-[everyone]Yeah, yeah, of course.
(a few hours after the promo all comments are on the couple) ;)
Anon. form Spain
hahahahaha, you are really good! That is funny.. and in some kind: true!!
DeleteEmi - still loling
Sorry, writers, but no plot will ever be powerful or interesting enough to distract me from Caskett! I mean, the murder case is usually good, but it's just a side dish to my main entree. ;)
DeleteAmen

I LOVE that they used Lonely Boy for the US promo!! "I got a love that keeps me waiting..."
ReplyDeleteI hate that we may all be right in that her little declaration wont go any further.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not fed up with them at all. I am however completely and totally loving this show and this season.
DeleteThe only thing I'm completely and totally fed up with are people who can't think of anything good to say so they have to whine and complain.
DeleteSame here Anon 8:04 and 8:26! I'm tired of hearing people complain and assuming we all feel the same way, i.e. disappointed with AM, lack of progress, etc. A bunch of whiny, fairweather fans if you ask me. There's no other show on TV I'd rather be watching than Castle. Enjoy the ride people!
DeleteI do not watch Castle -I ended at the end of last season. It seems that my predictions how this show is going further were very kind. Sorry folks - you make the main characters so pathetic that it is painful to watch.
DeleteHow would you know if you don't watch? And if you don't watch, what are you doing here making demeaning comments about the show?
DeleteYou want to see pathetic? Look in a mirror.
You know the day castle and Beckett actually talk about their feelings and relationship...pigs will fly...forget it, that scene with Beckett saying she is accepting things will end there, nothing more.
ReplyDeleteOh, ye of little faith. Castle and Beckett will be forced to talk about their feelings during Always. Don't worry, it's coming!
DeleteOh look...in the distance. What is that?!? Is it?? Could it be!?! My god!!!! Flying Pigs!!!!! And they'll be here in less than a week!!!!
DeletePerhaps it's coming...but I think it will be rushed and stuffed into the last 5 minutes of the finale.
DeleteThere is supposed to be an emotional cliffhanger at season's end & I imagine that's going to be the outcome of C&B's relationship conversation.
ReplyDeleteWhat did she do that she would not have done for either Esposito or Ryan?
Delete/just asking
I was thinking the same thing. She probably would have done it for Ryan or Esposito.
DeleteYeah, but Ryan and Esposito are on her team; Castle was not during Headhunters. No matter that she felt him pulling away and thought he'd been acting like a jackass, she still put her neck on the line. She's got his back, no matter what, which seemed to surprise Castle a bit, so, like Anon 8:10 said, it was a good way to show she loved him.
DeleteAs a side, she presumably trusts that Ryan & Espo can take care of themselves, as cops, but she clearly was worried that Castle could not.
ReplyDeleteOkay to the promo:
It will be a light and funny episode... So can't stop laughing till watching the Canadian promo - can't watch the other one, my internet strikes... - and that there are Caskett- moments is more than clear^^
I can imagine that this episode could share the "1st Place of favorite episodes" with Cuffed and C&R...
Okay, still have to wait, like we all have to...
Emi - germany
ReplyDeleteYou know everyone has their opinion and there are lots of negative comments about this finale but can't you just think about the positive parts? I mean this season there were some great Caskett moments, like in cops and robbers, cuffed, ;)
ReplyDeleteeven the recent episodes... though they are painful to watch, they are very good and once they do get into a relationship, they will have one less problem to deal with.
DeleteJM
I have just noticed one thing wathching the promo: I thought the moment when Beck explains she is accepting that happenned that day was extracted from the season finale, but actually I think she says that in next week episode! Maybe it is already obvious to you!! Look she wears the same orange coat (WTF?) as in the promotional pictures of "undead again"...!
ReplyDeleteSo maybe she will say this sentence, making Castle go crazy a little bit, wondering what she means exactly... and then the full confrontation will take place in the season finale.
What do you think?
The person in front of her isnt Castle, probably lanie. However, I do think some progression will take place towards, Always. JB's case will probably start to show its ugly head by the end of Undead Again!
DeleteI think this is the best idea I have read here!!!! It is so possible

The US promo had nothing to do with the zombie episode, did it? Looks like somebody was rushing to make a promo before they even had the appropriate footage in their hands.
ReplyDeleteCTV wins. Again.
I think ABC was just going for the relationship angle. They want viewers to get psyched up so they'll tune in for both the penultimate & the finale, since May sweeps are nearly upon us.
DeleteYou're right though, CTV usually does a better job of making informative promos.
I just see a video of the episode !
ReplyDeleteGreat quality and longer !

The way it looks for the US promo its looks like a combo promo of undead again and always and the CTV is only undead again i cant wait for these eps
