  1. Is the whole "plunge" thing on purpose?
Apart from that it doesn't give much away does it?

    1. hmmm, interesting thought. It's probably not a coincidence. The writers know what they are doing here!

    1. I know! When I First heard about these episodes and what they were about I was like "um, sound familiar!?" this is so repetitive

    2. Marlowe: "storyline what storyline? i give you Jennifer beals!
      now stare..."

  4. but, they plunge on purpose? this episode will be fantastic :D

  5. Let's see, two season's two-parter involves a serial killer, season three involves radioactive bomb that threatened NY, and now a conspiracy that could destroy the US. I predict next season's to be them saving the whole world, and season six's be stopping alien invasion, season seven's is about human race recolonizing onto Mars... ;)

This episode should be good as it is written by Marlowe himself. He has good track record IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  6. ohh yeah recolonizing mars sounds great Beckett as a captain of the space ship and Castle first pilot. Ship will be called Blue butterfly... or maybe not it would be cursed LOL

    1. Naw, Castle will buy his own ship and be the capt. He will name this ship Firefly. ;)

    2. They don't need a ship. Castle owns property on the moon, remember?

  7. I read on Fb Castle's page that tonight Nathan will be at Jimmy Kimmel Show(i hope it's written in the right way,i'm Italian)!

  8. Hmm. So, you are going to say this is repetitive without even watching the episode first? Watch first then judge. We have no idea what the plot is yet. And this little bit isn't going to say much, either. Let the egg hatch before you count the chickies. This episode sounds interesting and hopefully the episodes get darker and things get more dire so that they both FINALLY spill the secrets.

    1. Sad that an episode needs to go darker so things move between them

    2. Repetative negative judgemental comment = Repetative negative judgemental comment, * sigh* see I can do it too.
I totally agree with you anon 2:29. I'm sick of this, you cannot judge the episode based on two pieces of information.
But here let me try pointing out the differences:
      - CIA does not = FBI
      - New York bomb does not = international conspiracy against the entire United States
And what Dana delaney = Jennifer Beal's cause they're both women?
Had that person even seen the promo Jordan was like the FBI Kate, completely responsible with a kid at home, Sophia Conrad seems a little more playful.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, it's not repetitive. And I like the way Andrew Marlowe keeps it familiar yet fresh and exiting and dangerous. Also, those of you who think it's repetitive, the FBI and CIA are completely different,

      Delete
  9. I understand your point. Beals character is castle's ex muse, and there surely will be difference in this double episode about the story. However if you zoom out a bit, and try to have perspective you see castle&beckett + strong character seem like a shipper irritant but is not (delaney, Pasadar) + major shattering event (explosive building, bomb) = drama. For me it's repetitive in my opinion, and i hope that you are right and Marlowe surprises me.

    1. Well here's hoping for you both, although I agree with the first don't see it as repetative, it's ore of a structure.

  10. Here is what can cure all the 'repetitiveness' nature of these episodes...make the cliffhanger count. Like, from the spoiler I read, Beckett's secret is nowhere near coming out any time soon. This makes it completely sound like a show going on and on and on in the same direction. If they could take the 2-parter and incorporate some of that element into it, maybe people wouldn't be so quick to scream REPEAT. I mean, I really wish they would at least consider dragging out a little 'I remembered, Castle' into this 2parter, but it seems this is not the case. I think a little bit of a surprise for us viewers would be something different. The jealous Beckett has been done, the dire straights of the world have been done and the danger has been done with Beckett/Castle. I just think they need to address at least one of the secrets to add spice to it. Then again, I think this year's 2 parter will still be good.

    1. I'm assuming the spoiler you read was from Michael Ausiello (TV Line), right? Trust me, don't put too much stock into the info he leaks. In addition, his answer to the question of whether or not Beckett's secret coming out would be the cliffhanger seemed very tongue-in-cheek to me. Sometimes he can be very sarcastic with his responses, so don't count on all he says.

In addition, Andrew Marlowe said, very explicitly, that both secrets will be out by season's end. He said Beckett's will be revealed first...and that hers will comes out much sooner than Castle's does. There are only 9 episodes left this season, so if her secret comes out "much sooner" than his, like AWM said, it very likely will actually be revealed in the two-parter.

Also, the first ep of the two-parter is called "Pandora," which leads many of us thinks eludes to the story of Pandora's Box...i.e. Beckett letting her secret out and opening a whole new can of worms for she and Castle to deal with.

So, I see what you mean about the previous two-parters putting them in a life or death situation, but that's tv for you. I mean, I feel like every season Grey's Anatomy has an "event" that leads multiple characters' lives hanging in the balance...the same can be said for various other shows. This is the stuff that draws in viewers and keeps us on the edge of our seats. People want BIG drama. It would be a less than exciting two-part "event" if it was centered on a regular old case, right?

I also know what you mean about the jealous Beckett thing having been done...however, the sneak peeks were released today and it seems that yep, she's jealous...BUT the big difference is that she cops to feeling out of sorts about Castle's previous relationship with Sophia Conrad. That's something we haven't seen before from her. In the past, Beckett would play it cool and act like she didn't care even if it was eating her up inside. It may not seem like much, but it's pretty significant that she willingly shares her emotions with Castle this time around.

Anyway, I agree with you that the two-parter is going to be a good one. I really think Beckett's secret is coming out...Ausiello may be accurate that her telling Castle she heard him may not be the cliffhanger but I'm betting big time that Pandora's box is about to be opened on Monday. ;)

    2. It also gives the season structure and allows the writers to advance the ship storyline or the mother storyline. There's a total of six episodes that do this each season.
The first wherein Castle worms his way into the precinct, the 13th episode to make a little progress in the mummy murder, the two parter high stakes episode and the finale where he or she separate themselves from the other.

To change any of these would mean something incredibly pivotal, changing the overall show completely:
-If he weren't to return at the beginning would mean a definite end to the show, or that they were together all Summer, probably as a couple, or Castle or Beckett are in some kind of mortal danger that'll take a couple of episodes to grasp.
-To not have a mum episode would mean that the case is completely cold, or it's been solved, in which case our Ship would probably be in the best place ever.
-Aside from the drama that the two part high stakes episode provides, without it we wouldn't be reminded of the truely great abilities of our ship in, completely focused case sovling mode.
-Without having our characters separate at the end of each season means again that our Ship will be together all summer, most likely as a couple.

Saying that I too would like to see her secret in the mix somewhere, it would definitely increase the stakes a whole lot more if there was a situation, that she could've and didnt and then was at risk of never being able to tell him, so she does it the very next chance she gets, but maybe thats being a tad over dramatic, haha.

    3. Elena, you would be disappointed if Kate's secret does not come out? because Marlowe said they would come out from the spring so I have some doubts

      Delete
    4. Yes, I'd be disappointed but not devastated or anything. AWM didn't say they'd be out in the spring, specifically...not in the interviews I've read, anyway. He said they would both be out this season...Beckett's surprisingly much earlier than Castle's, whose secret will come out by season's end. I think he's going to space out the reveal of the secrets so that they have to time to deal with the aftermath of Beckett's secret coming out before having to work through Castle's reveal. It would almost rushed to have Beckett's secret out in, say, episode 20 and then have Castle's come out an episode or two later.

He clearly stated that Castle's secret will come out as an extremely inconvenient time. This has me thinking that 1) Beckett's secret will come out in the two-parter; 2) After initially being upset that she's been lying to him about such an emotional and personal issue, Castle will understand why she felt the need to lie; 3) They will make significant progress in their relationship. Namely, I think we might even see them attempt a date or two. 4) Just as Beckett is feeling comfortable with things and ready to really take things to the next level with Castle...oops...out comes his secret. 5) Beckett will initially be furious with him. She'll say things with them are over and walk away, as expected. However, she WILL realize that he did what he did to keep her safe. He kept this secret from her out of love and concern for her life. 6) The end of the season will see them in a good place, closer than ever, ready to dive into this thing they've got going on together...and, finally, we'll get a summer where they're not separated by a terrible/heartbreaking situation.

Will this happen for sure? Of course not. I'm just positing a theory based on what I've seen so far and what I've heard AWM speak about in recent interviews. Whatever happens, I think it'll be a really great back 9 episodes of this season...and I think "Pandora" and "Linchpin" are what set things into motion.

    5. Thank you for responding
I really hope your theory is correct.

  11. With these two episodes I think we will enter a world of spies who have "license to kill", which has always fascinated Castle and that prompted him to write.
I hope they are episodes of the "Die Hard" .. would be just great!
The thing that I enjoy and that will have to 'deal with his past!
One thing that is not 'never been addressed! It 's not only that will see his old muse, but I will explain the sides of his character that were not so clear .. for example, his attachment to 'hi-tech and conspiracy theories.

We must not lose sight the set all the details

    2. My favorite part is when Castle says "It wasn't like it is with you and me." Sqeeeeeeeeee! I love that he's acknowledging that there is something special between them. Of course, everyone knows this, and they have acknowledged it before when they started calling each other "partners" rather that the detective and her puppy consultant (which Castle still kind of is, by the way! ;) But it's nice to hear them talk about their special bond, however subtly they do it.

    1. I caught that, too...maybe she's gotten married since he knew her all those years ago. That's my guess.

    2. OH PLEASE BE MARRIED!

      Delete
    3. She's either married now or was married then and is divorced now. So Conrad could be her maiden name or her husbands name. I hope she is maried too.

      Delete
    4. oooo i definitely noticed something wrong with that preview, but I couldn't put my finger on it. It was her name, Turner instead of Conrad.

Turner could be her maiden name that she went back to after she divorced a guy w/ the name Conrad. Or it could be a fake name. (It is the CIA after all!) I don't see her as married, because Beckett might still be jealous that Castle took inspiration from someone else, but she probably wouldn't be compelled to sarcastically call Sofia Castle's "girlfriend" in the Canadian promo.

      Delete
  17. I loved the sneak peeks! Especially the one where Beckett kinda admits to being jealous, I mean that's movement. Usually she would just play it off, but she actually tells castle about being insecure about his old muse aw:). I'm proud of her and I didn't even see the ep yet. Ooh never thought Sofia might be married, ya let that happen. Anyway after hearing about the story of pandora and linchpin I think this could be our best 2 parter. I hope her secret comes out. Before I was kinda hesitant because I don't like them fighting but after thinking about all the movement and emotions and rewards that will result from it, it will be freaking worth it. Can't wait till pandora's box is opened Monday.

  18. I love the sneak peek with Alexis, it was cute to see Castle's reaction to finding out what her new internship is!

Although, I don't get why she didn't just tell him about it. I know that my parents would be PISSED if I signed on to traipse around New York City to dangerous crime scenes and view the horrific and explicit aftermath of murder, all of which without their permission. Also, wouldn't Castle have needed to sign a consent form for a minor to do all that? He had to sign papers to follow Beckett around! If Alexis were to be injured on the job, then Lanie (or whatever ME Alexis was with at the time) would be held accountable, opening the city up to lawsuits galore. Just sayin.

    1. You're right! I didn't even think about that! Just think how unsettling it would be if you're a parent having out with your almost- girlfriend at a bloody crime scene on the streets of New York when your teenage daughter turns up in rubber gloves and an ME jacket.

      There's something wrong with that.

      Delete
    2. Lanie probably signed the consent form cause she knows Castle very well.

      Delete
  19. Yeah I was just wondering that when I saw the sneak peeks. I'm not in the united states so I don't know what is the protocol for internship there, but for someone to intern especially In a medical capacity wouldn't the person need to be pre med student first. They won't just let someone out of high school intern for such job right. I mean this isn't filing documents.

And wouldn't she need to sign waivers as she is at crime scenes. I mean the police always cordon off bystanders and the general public when there is a case, how can an 18 year old be there with no real jurisdiction what so ever or qualifications.

Don't mean to be picky, but I think this is not authentic. Sorry Andrew Marlowe.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was thinking that too. How is Alexis able to just follow an ME around. And to crime scenes??? Doesn't quite add up to me.

And personally I think she is doing it to piss her dad off. Remember Molly had mentioned before the season premier that this season she is going to rebel to get attention. Her comment at the end about now this could be her thing didn't sound genuine, it sounded more like she wants to annoy her dad.

    ReplyDelete
  21. On the show Alexis is 18 and may not need her dads permission to intern with Lanie. Seeing as to how it's Castles daughter, Lanie would probably be willing to cut some red tape to let her in.

    Also....

Saw this post another page and thought it was relevant to the discussion here as well so re-posting it

'Anonymous Feb 9, 2012 06:57 AM I had a friend that interned with a medical examiner while we were still in highschool. She got the opportunity to sit in on autopsies and go to the scenes. I think as long as you have an in--which Alexis does, being that they all know her and love her--then you can get that kind of internship.

    I find it totally believable.'

    ReplyDelete
  22. When you're 18 you're legally an adult (at least in NY) and technally don't need your parents permission to do anything...you can even enlist in the army and you think you don't see bloody corpses in that situation? Last time I checked the M.E. s did not carry guns and chase down suspects. They examine bodies in a secure location with cops milling around. Plus, we haven't even SEEN the episode yet, her situation is probably explained in a little more detail than what we have seen.

  23. Beckett would have never admitted to Castle that she was "taken back" by the fact that he had another muse, earlier in their relationship. So I am going to look at this as progress. Let's hope that there is even more progress some where in this two-parter!!!!!
