Being at Beckett’s side as she fights for her life isn’t the only crucible lying in wait for Castle‘s titular mystery writer when the ABC drama kicks off its fourth season on Sept. 19.
Instead, once the dust has settled on the season finale’s shocking shooting – which came on the heels of Captain Montgomery being killed — Beckett will find herself having to break in a new boss. But Victoria “Iron” Gates is not one to bend easily, if at all.
“She’s definitely the challenger, where when you’re in her presence, you’re going to be better than your best,” says the new captain’s portrayer, 24 alum Penny Johnson Jerald. “She’s there to make [the officers of the 12th precinct] better than before. But mind you, she won’t put up with the way they’ve been getting [to that level] before, so there may be some trying times.”

ReplyDeleteI want to see Kate fight for Castle. It's always him that's making the effort to stay at the precinct, but now he doesn't have much say. I really hope Kate says something to the new captain about letting Castle stay because that would be a really good Caskett moment :)
ReplyDeleteAlways a challenge and risk when you change the recipe. We can only trust in the chef that the meal will taste just as well. It's the side dishes and the presentation that can make or break the meal.

Interesting. Beckett has claimed to "want Castle gone" for three years, but Montgomery (citing the Mayor as an excuse) wouldn't allow it (the finale told a different story, but whatever).
ReplyDeleteNow Beckett will have a Captain who wants Castle gone. How will Beckett respond to THAT? I think it could make for some lighthearted "let's see what we can pull over the Captain's eyes" moments, if played just right. Lord knows we need some lightness after all the betrayal, tragedy, and death in the S3 finale.

ReplyDeleteI think it will be a lot of fun to watch Beckett defend castle and fight to keep him there. Inadvertently this behavior will show castle how much she cares about him.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like that the captain may not like castle hanging out at the precint so maybe Beckett and castle will work on their theory building outside the precint like the old haunt or becketts apartment. Beckett should have a murder board in her apartment. This way they spend more time together in a more intimate setting. NICE.
With the captain being difficult, I think this season will see a lot of beckett defending and sticking up for castle. This will show her more softer side because she will have to admit she wants him there. Can't wait for the premier. So excited to see them move forward in their relationship.

ReplyDeleteIt would be really funny if he has to always hide at the precinct :) You know, do some James Bond moves and find some crazy hiding spots.. that would sure make it lighter around the precinct.
ReplyDeleteI think this will offer a great opportunityy for Beckett to show her protective side for castle. We know that she lives him and protect him with her life but he doesn't know that and this will show him that his feelings are reciprocated, even if she isn't voicing it directly. Well action speaks loud than words right.
