Armchair Casting Director: 'Castle'
Will Justin Bieber follow-up his CSI guest stint with a role on Castle? Probably not. But he’s the first famous kid that popped into my head when I heard that the ABC hit was looking for a “teen star” to play the potentially recurring role of…
… Ashley, the new boyfriend of Nathan Fillion’s TV daughter, Alexis (Molly C. Quinn). Fact is, the actor in question must be at least 18-years-old, which rules out the 16-year-old Biebs. It doesn’t, however, rule out Nick Jonas. I’m just putting that out there.

"Castle" creator Andrew Marlowe revealed that Castle will soon be forced to undergo police training, in order to keep working with Detective Beckett, and will soon face a new serial killer adversary.

Keck's Exclusives: Death Rocks the Castle Family (3x2)
In the second episode of Castle's upcoming third season, an extended member of the Castle family will die.
"As in real life, death is sad, but it makes us all appreciate what we have around us a little bit more," series star Nathan Fillion told me after Castle's Comic-Con panel. Added series creator Andrew Marlowe: "This will bring the family closer together."
So who's the unlucky soul? I promised not to say. But I can confirm it's one of these three people: Chet, the never-seen boyfriend of Castle's mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan), Meredith (Darby Stanchfield), Castle's first ex-wife and Alexis' mother, who has been living in Los Angeles, or Gina (Monet Mazur), Castle's second ex-wife with whom he reconnected in the season finale.
This may or may not be a clue to the victim's identity: The Season 3 premiere opens with Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and her team arresting Castle after discovering him hovering over a dead body.
Additionally, Marlowe told me he plans to delve into the mystery of Castle's paternity, though probably not until Season 4. Nathan's already campaigning for his longtime idol Christopher Walken to play his pops. "I met him one time and I'll never forget it," says Nathan, who treated me to a pretty sweet imitation of Walken.
And good news for actress Tamala Jones, who says the cops will soon discover that her character, Lanie, has become romantically involved with Esposito (Jon Huertas). She will also be forming a closer after-hours relationship with Beckett. "I also hear there will be an episode totally dedicated to Lanie's background and all of her relationships," says Tamala, who is launching a campaign to get The L Word's Pam Grier on the show as her mama.

Sneak Peek of Season 3
Series Creator Andrew Marlowe set up the clip by saying, “It's been a couple months since the fall. Castle hasn't called. Beckett's kinda hurt, the boys are kinda hurt, and he's nowhere to be found. It's fall, he hasn't shown up. Beckett and the boys are wondering where he is. Then this...”

Mega Buzz For 'Castle'
It's been a while since we've heard anything about Castle. What do you know? — Kelly
ADAM: I hear the show is looking to add a (possibly recurring) character to the cast. A middle-aged former cop-turned-bounty-hunter, the character is described as a larger-than-life figure with a good sense of humor. I smell a one-liner showdown with Castle.

Keck's Exclusives: Castle's New Menace
I am delighted to have been asked to moderate Comic-Con's first-ever Castle panel this coming Sunday in San Diego. If you're there, please come see me have fun with Nathan Fillion and his co-stars. Now here's a little exclusive Castle Season 3 scoopage for you.
Save for a special two-parter, Rick Castle and Kate Beckett have been successful in apprehending their killers at the end of every episode. Unfortunately for the sexy sleuths, that's about to change around the seventh episode of the new season.
"We're creating an incredibly manipulative villain who will get away and become a thorn in their sides," teases creator Andrew Marlowe, who hopes his serial killer, known as '3xK' because he kills in threes, "will have the delicious appeal of a Hannibal Lecter." Yikes! Let's just hope 3xK doesn't turn Rick (who'll be a murder suspect himself in the Sept. 20 season premiere) into a...white Castle burger. Sorry. I promise my material will be better on Sunday.

Ask Ausiello: Season 3 Scoop (3x3)
Question: Any new spoilers for the third season of Castle now that they’ve started filming? —Laura
Ausiello: We’ll learn a lot more about Beckett’s early years on the force in this season’s third episode when her training officer becomes the focal point of a case. Said training officer is being played by Jason Beghe (Cane, American Dreams), and rumor has it the two may have been romantically involved back in the day.

The Big Tease: Castle Season 3 Spoilers - Will Demming Return?
Is Michael Trucco coming back to ‘Castle‘? I think it would be interesting to have Demming around for a while. – Kat
See, here’s the thing. Though there was talk that Trucco’s recurring run might extend into Season 3, the cold, hard fact is that he is now busy shooting ‘Facing Kate,’ the new USA Network series on which he plays the ex-husband of Sarah Shahi’s titular mediator. The word from ABC is that it’s “too soon to tell” if Trucco will be needed back, while a USA source says they probably wouldn’t be opposed to loaning him out for some ‘Castle’ closure. But one way or another, he’ll be facing a Kate, see?
